Oh what a difference a year makes! I just celebrated my birthday. Last August I was hanging in Hilton Head, South Carolina with the air staff and a fun group of listeners from 107.9 The Link. This year I celebrated my birthday in Savannah, Georgia with a friend (more on that later). Same part of the world, completely different me!!!

Last year, weighing about 225 lbs I was way too embarrassed to be seen in a swimsuit at the pool.
This year, weighing about 161 pounds I put on a swimsuit and hit the hot-tub at the hotel.

Last year the doctor had me on three different meds for my diabetes. I was supposed to take pills for my diabetes. There was a pill for weight loss and a high blood pressure med to reduce the impact of the diabetes meds on my heart.
This year I’m taking nothing but vitamins!!!!!

Hard to believe ALL of my progress has occurred since I had gastric bypass surgery in mid January at Catawba Valley Medical Center. 60 pounds of progress toward a diabetes free life!!!!
