I am so happy for you, Ramona!! It will be a huge adjustment but well worth it. I am also going to CVMC to have surgery. Mine is scheduled for October 6th along with my aunt Mary. We are each others support person and going through it together. It is very important to have the support of family and friends and even people that you may or may not know that have gone though it. I admit I have had some reservations these past few days, probably just nerves, but I plan on taking advantage of the next support group meeting!!! Wish me luck! And good luck to you too!!
I hope that all goes well for you too!! Love ya Girl!!

God bless you Ramona!! It's a very difficult decision to make. I work in an outpatient gastroenterology center and we see a lot of patients"pre-op". I give nothing BUT encouragement to these patients because it really takes a lot to undergo surgery to help you lose weight.
I'm behind you 100%!!!! It's the best decision since you weren't able to keep the weight off through diet and exercise (not easy either!).Type 2 diabetes is a very debilitating disease. Lose the weight and get it under control!!!!

hi Ramona - I wish you success and happiness on your journey. I am two years out from the surgery and have no regrets. It was a soul searching process to reach the decision to have surgery. I had to make big investment in lifestyle changes leading up to the surgery. It is so important to create a strong support network when you go through such a big life changing event. I had type two diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea and was also on anti hypertensive meds to protect my kidneys, like you. I have lost 135 lbs overall and no longer take medicine for diabetes or need cpap machine for apnea. The diabetes resolved almost immediately following surgery. I will follow your progress and keep you in my thougths for a successful outcome.

Best of Luck! You will succeed. I had the sleeve about a month ago, lost 44 so far. Same struggles you are facing. It's all worth it. Wife had the by-pass with amazing results.

Ramona, I want to congratulate you on making a decisions to take control of your struggle with weight and change your life. It takes a brave soul to share all of that with the world. I too am taking the step to better myself through bariatric surgery. I have a couple more months on the doctor supervised diet required by my insurance and then it is just a matter of submitting paperwork, waiting for approval, and getting a date. I am hoping and praying to get my surgery before the end of the year. Good luck on your journey. I am glad I can share it with you.
