Illinois Woman Posts Selfie With Stolen Dress, Gets Arrested

We all have that friend on social media who posts WAY too much information.  At least they're not as dumb as this gal from southern Illinois, who got herself arrested after stealing from a store and posting the evidence on Facebook.

The owners of Mortie's Boutique in West Frankfort told KFVS they spotted a woman on surveillance video stealing a neon, leopard print dress.  The store owners immediately posted about it on social media, asking followers on Facebook to help them track down the stolen dress.

Several hours later they received word that 27-year-old Danielle Saxton had posted a selfie in the stolen dress on Facebook:

Police were able to track down Saxton and also found more items she'd stolen from Mortie's Boutique:  two t-shirts, sunglasses and a necklace.  She was charged her with retail theft less than $300; Saxton was jailed because because of an outstanding warrant on a prior drug charge.

The store told KFVS this isn't the first time they've used Facebook to catch a thief, and it won't be the last.
