A Daytona Beach father told police he brutally beat a man that was sexually abusing his 11-year-old son on Friday.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the 35-year-old father said he walked in on 18-year-old Raymond Frolander sexually battering his son. The father then beat Frolander unconscious, dragged him into the living room and called 911.
“I just walked in on a grown man molesting...and I got him in a bloody puddle for you officer,” the father told the dispatcher. The father also said, “He stood up and his pants were around his ankles and nothing else needed to be said, I did whatever I got a right to do except I didn’t kill him."
When asked if any weapons were used in the attack, the father said he only used his foot and fist. “I didn’t proceed to ask him any questions sir,” he said. “He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you. Send an ambulance. He is going to need one."
Police arrived and found Frolander with several knots on his face and bleeding from his mouth. He was treated for his injuries and said "I'm guilty" when questioned by police. He was charged with sexual battery by an 18-year-old on a victim under 12.
The 11-year-old boy told police he'd been playing video games with friends, but when they left Frolander took him to a back room, pulled his pants down and started molesting him. The boy also said Frolander, who's their next-door neighbor, had been sexaully abusing him since he was 8 years old.
The father was not charged with a crime. Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood said, “Dad was acting like a dad. I don’t see anything we should charge the dad with. You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times.”
