Visible tattoos may hurt an applicant’s chances of getting a job, but it depends on the nature of the tattoo as well as the position they are trying to get.
Tattoos are still taboo.
New research out of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland suggests that sporting some ink may reduce your chances of getting a job, but it depends on the location and nature of the tattoo, as well as the professional industry.
Dr. Andrew Timming interviewed 15 managers involved in the hiring process at different organizations, including a bank, hotel, prison, university and bookstore.
