Bob and Sheri: The Ice Bucket Challenge

Bob & Sheri decided to assist in a participation of the #IceBucketChallenge which is all in an effort to raise awareness for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Those who are challenged to do the Ice Bucket Challenge have 24 hours to participate and dump a bucket of ice on their head. Those who choose to not participate in the challenge must donate $100 towards ALS. Most people participate and donate in addition!

The ALS Foundation has raised over $14 million dollars with the help of this campaign, which is a massive increase to what they raised last year ($1.8 million dollars).

So, while one person may see a silly video of a guy dumping ice on his head, other's see it as a way of helping others in a way that flows with today's society and how we communicate with one another. So, listeners...Bob & Sheri challenge YOU to the #IceBucketChallenge! Share YOUR video on the Bob & Sheri Facebook page and challenge your friends and family to keep raising awareness and donations!

  • Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now?

Technology has made meeting Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now a lot more convenient. Back in the day you'd have to physically go out of the town to a bar or social event to meet perspective suitors. But thanks to online dating sites and the various dating app you can accomplish the same thing while wearing your fuzzy bunny slippers and PJs.

It's been quite a few years since I did the online dating thing. I tried a whole slew of sites in search of my perfect match. And I even challenged myself to have an open mind and went on 30 dates with 30 different guys in 30 days. What did I get out of it? A match made in heaven? Hardly! I got a lot of crazy stories to share, free meals, drinks, and even met some guys that made great friends. I actually met my husband in a much more wacky way. I'll share that story one day…promise!

So if you're new to the dating scene or you've not had any luck meeting quality men online maybe it's because you're doing something wrong.

Here are some tips and tricks to have a more successful experience online.

    1. What's in a Name? You photo and your online name will be the first thing someone sees. And the name you choose can help or hurt your chances of meeting the right kind of guy.

Do:  Khalid Khan, lead study researcher and professor of women’s health at Queen Mary University of London, said choosing a profile name beginning with the letters A through M can have a positive influence on how other users view you. “Starting a screen name with a letter in the top half of the alphabet is surprisingly important, because several measures of success, such as educational attainment and income, are linked to names higher up the alphabet,” Khan said. “Add to this the fact that search engines sort names alphabetically.”

When it comes to what your profile name says about you, researchers found small words can make a big difference. Their data showed men are more drawn to names that suggest physical attractiveness, like ‘cutie’ while women tend to favor names that hint at intelligence, such as ‘cultured.’

Don't: Stay away from words like big, little, sexy, vixen, baby, and mistress. These words can be sending the wrong kind of message. Also avoid using the number 69 in your profile name for obvious reasons. And do not use your full name. There are too many crazy people in this world. Don't make it easy for them to track you down.

    2. Picture Perfect! Your online photo is what will make that first impression on your potential matches. The picture you choose could make or break your profile.

Do: “It seems obvious to say an attractive photo is best, but try and include features such as a genuine smile that crinkles up the eyes, and possibly a tilt of the head,” Khan said. And make sure the picture is an accurate representation of what you look like currently.

Don't: Please don't use an ancient photo of yourself because you are 50lbs lighter or you are 23. This is misrepresenting yourself. You are Read More

Relationships end. People break up. Divorce is a reality, sadly. And a lot of the time the split has something to do with a person cheating.

People cheat for all kinds of reasons- they aren't in love anyone, they aren't getting the physical attention they need, they are no longer physically attracted to the person they're involved with, or maybe they don't consider what they're doing cheating. I am not here to condone cheating, but again it's something that happens a lot.
