Our neighbors have been trying to get us to decorate the outside of our house so everyone on our block will have Christmas decorations up, but we don't want to. My husband and I don't have the time, money, or the desire to "keep up with the Joneses" nor do we have any relationship with the people harassing us into the holiday spirit, if you will. The drunk redneck on the corner went as far as to warn us that he was going to do a midnight decorating mission at our place and we'd better just be okay with whatever he chooses to hang up since it's his money and time. At this point, even if I wanted to hang a wreath on my door I wouldn't- just to spike those idiots.
I'm so glad I don't live near a bunch of decoration pushing ding bats like your neighbors. Talk about dodging a bullet! I wouldn't stress too much about the pressure to Christmas things up. Try to ignore them and go about your business. If Drunky McDrunkerton does make his midnight mission to spruce up your place make sure to call the police and press charges for trespassing and destruction of property. That'll teach 'em!
Happy Holidays! (but no pressure intended)
