I made the mistake of telling some of my friends and family that I wanted to lose 50 pounds and now everyone I know seems to be a health and nutrition expert. I can't even begin to tell you how many recipes, links to diets, exercise tips, and motivational messages I've gotten over the past week. Enough to write you to vent about it- if that tells you anything! So my dilemma is that I want to tell everyone to leave me alone but I don't want to come off as rude.
Have you ever tried eating all vegetables one week and then all protein the next? Just kidding! I would never attempt to give another dieter advice as I've been on the receiving end of it and also found it incredibly annoying. What works for one person, won't work for another, so just figure out what kind of eating and exercise works for you and stick to it. As for your friends and family: The next time you get unsolicited advice simply reply that you appreciate their help but don't need it because you're doing fine on your own. Tell them that you'd rather get compliments about your progress the next time they see you.
