“Resident Evil” fans will have to wait patiently for “The Final Chapter.”
Per Deadline, production on the franchise’s sixth film has been pushed to 2015 because its lead actress, Milla Jovovich, is expecting her second child – and with the movie’s director, no less.
The project, which was supposed to shoot in Cape Town, South Africa, has been pushed back by ten months.
Jovovich confirmed that she and writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson (“Pompeii”) are having another baby on Facebook this week.
“So after a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone’s best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie,” she explained. “Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo!”
Jovovich expressed her excitement at getting back in action after giving birth, with the plan to begin shooting next summer.
“Before I go, I want to also send one more HUGE thank you out to all my amazing fans who have been so patient waiting for the next installment of the RE franchise! YOU ROCK!” she added, completing her fan message.
