The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards will start with a bang… literally.
MTV announced that Jessie J will kick off the highly-anticipated award show on Sunday with a performance of her new single, “Bang Bang,” in which she’s joined by Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande.
According to the “Hollywood Reporter,” they’ll sing the track live together for the first time, after which the official video will make its way to BangBang.mtv.com.
The music video tie-in was promoted Tuesday night during the newly-renewed “Finding Carter,” featuring a pink-ified music video set sponsored by Beats Audio and Target.
Jessie J joins Sam Smith as a late addition to the lineup of VMA performers. “Bang Bang” will be followed by performances from Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Rita Ora, 5 Seconds of Summer, Usher and Iggy Azalea.
The VMAs will air this Sunday at 9pm on MTV. Watch the preview and let us know what you’re thinking about the “Bang Bang” video so far in the comments!
