If you thought James Van Der Beek was the strangest casting choice “CSI: Cyber” could make, you’d be very, very wrong.
The midseason spinoff of CBS’s “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” has just added rapper Bow Wow to the cast, according to the official press release.
Nothing against Bow Wow – also known as Shad Moss – but his only acting credits in recent memory include “Scary Movie 5” and an episode of BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood.”
In the show, he’ll play Brody “Baby Face” Nelson, a “cyber-intrusion savant” who is ordered to work with the department by a judge.
The star joins a cast that seems to be expanding almost weekly, including Van Der Beek and Peter MacNicol’s recent casting.
“CSI: Cyber” also stars Patricia Arquette – who will pop up on the “CSI” mothership this fall – along with Gil Bellows and Charley Koontz.
The third “CSI” spinoff will take over for the original in 2015, Sundays at 10pm on CBS.
