Disney is taking a new adventure, over the river and through the woods, to grandmother’s house she goes.
But Little Red Riding Hood is just one of the fantastical storybook characters making in appearance in Disney’s adaptation of “Into the Woods.”
Based on the hit musical of the same name, Meryl Streep is back in a new musical as The Witch in the film, which combines elements of Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella, among others.
Anna Kendrick plays Cinderella, while Streep’s evil witch almost literally blows the roof off of the home belonging to the Baker’s Wife (Emily Blunt) and the Baker (James Corden).
Sadly, the teaser does not feature any singing, but at this point, we’ll take what we can get. Billy Magnussen, Lucy Punch, Chris Pine, Tammy Blanchard and Christine Baranski – Streep’s “Mamma Mia” co-star – also star.
The PG-rated film is due out in theaters on Christmas Day, and if we could buy tickets already, we could have. Did you find the “Into the Woods” preview to be magical? Weigh in below!
