This is no hoax: Naya Rivera will officially be back on “Glee” for its final season, but in a reduced capacity.
TVLine confirms that the actress, whose status on the musical comedy has been in question for some time now, asked for a reduced schedule going into season 6.
Rivera will return as a recurring guest star, much like a good chunk of the original cast, including Amber Riley and Dianna Agron.
Rivera’s Santana Lopez has been a breakout character for the FOX series, joining the show’s first season as one of Quinn’s (Agron) lackeys before being bumped up to a series regular role for the past several seasons.
She was one of the characters who, along with Lea Michele’s Rachel and Chris Colfer’s Kurt, made the jump to New York fulltime this year.
Both Michele and Colfer were the victim of a Twitter hacking last week, with the latter’s account falsely announcing the actor’s departure from the show.
