Ex-“
Private Practice” star Taye Diggs is trading the doctor’s office for the law office.

The actor has been cast in a recurring role for the CBS legal drama’s sixth season, according to the official press release.

He will play an equity partner named Dean Levine Wilkins, who (minor spoiler alert) “decides to join Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) at Florrick/Agos.”

Diggs is currently starring on TNT’s “Murder in the First,” which will continue its 10-episode freshman run throughout the summer.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Taye on the show,” showrunners Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. “We’ve been huge fans for years, and love his ability to play comedy and drama with equal ease.”

Diggs is the latest addition to the show, which has a top-notch roster of guest stars. Last season, Matthew Goode was promoted to a series regular for his role as Finn Polmar, and he’ll be back this year.

“The Good Wife” will return on Sunday, September 21 at 9pm, paired with the debut of the Tea Leoni-starring drama “Madam Secretary.”
