After a previous trek opening for Emblem3, "Classic" hit makers MKTO begin their first North American headlining tour tonight (June 27) in Detroit.
The group recently released a new single, "American Dream," from its debut album, and Tony Oller -- who met Malcolm Kelley on the set of Nickelodeon's "Gigantic," tells us the duo can't wait to put its own show on the road:
"Man, we're excited. We're gonna have our first tour bus, which I'm very excited about. We never had one. We started in a van. It’s gonna just be able to play our full set...Which is incredible, and getting to play all the songs from the record and then some is always fun to do, just basically leave it all on stage, man, rock out and meet all the fans on the road and see beautiful places."
Oller adds that in addition to the songs from the "MKTO" album, "We'll do a couple covers and a couple songs that kind of going back to some of the songs that didn't make the record but are songs that we really like, so definitely gonna be including those, definitely be an hour and 20 minutes of adrenalin and fun."
MKTO, which previously headlined in Australia, will be on the road until August 17, then opens for Demi Lovato starting September 6 in Baltimore. The group has also started work on its sophomore album.
