Ariana Grande’s birthday is this week, so we thought it’d be fitting to honor the 5 greatest child stars who have regularly rocked a rock red hairdo. Without further ado, here are 5 young actors who have graced red hair:
1. Ariana Grande
Is the 21-year-old a legitimate red head? That is the question as Cat Valentine from “Sam & Cat” – originally introduced on Nickelodeon’s “Victorious” – is constantly changing her hair color. In fact, the double platinum recording artist – whose debut studio album “Yours Truly” reached no. one on the Billboard 200 – seems to dye her hair as frequently as most people change their clothes. Although her credibility as a red-headed child star is debatable, there is no arguing the fact that the Breakthrough Artist of 2014 is extremely talented and here to stay.
2. Lindsay Lohan
Although LiLo’s acting career isn’t what it used to be, her strawberry blonde hair has evidently not been affected. The former child actress, who was at one point better known for her acting than her personal life, reached the pinnacle of her acting career in 2004 with “Mean Girls.” Though she went brunette for “Bobby” and blonde for “A Prairie Home Companion,” she’s still one of Hollywood’s most notable redheads. With a rumored stage debut in the works in London, is Lindsay finally getting back on her feet?
3. Emma Stone
Oh, how far the “Easy A” star has come since landing the role of Laurie Partridge in “The New Partridge Family,” a failed reboot of the ‘70s sitcom, which paid homage to another red-headed child star in Danny Bonaduce. Since, the natural blonde – who dyed her hair auburn for “Superbad” – has mostly stuck to the big screen with roles in “The Amazing Spider-Man” and the Oscar-nominated flick “The Help.” And there’s no stopping the Stone, as she’s set to star in two comedies in 2014 – “Magic in the Moonlight” and “Birdman.”
4. Drake Bell
When he’s not busy bashing Justin Bieber and his Belieber fans on Twitter, the red-haired Bell has found time for both acting and music, starring in the beloved Nickelodeon TV series “Drake and Josh” while recording albums such as “It’s Only Time,” which has sold nearly 300,000 copies worldwide since its 2006 release. Boy, have the times changed though for the former teen star, who claims to be in nearly $600, 000 in debt. Hopefully, he’s able to get back on his feet sooner rather than later.
5. Debby Ryan
After hanging around with Cole and Dylan Sprouse on the Disney Channel series “Suite Life on Deck,” Ryan became a small-town girl living in a lonely world who moves to New York in another Disney hit, “Jessie.” As the lead vocalist of The Never Ending, Ryan and the band released their debut album “One” this week. And make sure to be on the lookout for more of Ryan in “Jessie,” which will return for a fourth season on Disney in January.
