Two Shepherds are better than one!
That must be Shonda Rhimes’s thinking, as the mega-producer has decided to bring Caterina Scorsone on full-time for season 11 of ABC's “Grey’s Anatomy.”
E! News reports that Scorsone will reprise her role as Dr. Amelia Shepherd, Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd’s little sister, which she originated on the “Grey’s” spinoff, “Private Practice.”
With that show ending last year, the star was freed up to join Shonda’s flagship drama as guest star last season before becoming a full-fledged series regular.
“Grey’s” lost three regulars at the end of season 10, with original star Sandra Oh stepping down, as well as the departures of new residents Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles.
No confirmation on whether Amelia’s beau James (Matt Long) will follow, but after the phone calls we overheard in the last few episodes of “Grey’s,” it doesn’t look likely.
Will you be glad to see Amelia interacting with her brother Derek (Patrick Dempsey) on season 11? Sound off in comments!
