The women of “Saturday Night Live” are returning to “The Nest.”
Not only will unbeatable Emmy co-hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey play sisters in the Universal release, but their good friend Maya Rudolph will also be joining in on the fun.
Per "The Hollywood Reporter," the script, penned by “SNL” writer Paula Pell, will feature Rudolph as the sisters’ childhood friend who gets to see them again when the ladies return home to sell their parents’ home.
“The Mindy Project” writer-star Ike Barinholtz is also on board for “The Nest,” playing a potential love interest for Poehler’s character.
Aside from “SNL,” Fey and Poehler previously co-starred in “Baby Mama” and “Mean Girls,” the latter of which was written by the “30 Rock” creator and actress.
This is the second great piece of news regarding stellar women in comedy with week, with “Bridesmaids” screenwriters Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo announcing their next project.
Could you be any more excited for “The Nest”? Maybe there’s a role in there for Rachel Dratch to make the reunion complete?
