Lifetime recently announced that Angela Bassett would direct of a new biopic about Whitney Houston.

Just yesterday, TVLine reported that the network cast 2003 “America’s Next Top Model” runner-up Yaya Dacosta as the late Houston in the film, titled “I Will Always Love You.”

Over the past several years, Dacosta has turned her modeling fame into an acting career with roles in “The Kids Are Alright” and “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.”

According to the official press release, the film will be focusing on the infamous marriage of 15 years between Houston and husband Bobby Brown

No word yet on whether it will pass the Bechdel Test – which tasks films with featuring two women that have at least one conversation with one another about something other than a man – but we can always hope.

Though a first-time director, Bassett is a Hollywood stalwart, appearing in everything from the Tina Turner biopic “What’s Love Got to Do with It” to “Meet the Robinsons.”

She has most recently been portraying historical voodoo queen Marie Laveau in “American Horror Story.”
