Mary Elizabeth Winstead
has “returned” to television.

More accurately, she’ll be back on the small screen next year, as she’s taken a lead role as one of the surviving citizens in A&E’s “The Returned,” according to Deadline.

Similar to ABC’s “Resurrection” but based on a French series, the emotional drama follows a small town in which the dead begin to come back to life.

But it’s no zombie show, instead focusing on the quiet moments of people reuniting with their loved ones.

Winstead, star of “A Good Day to Die Hard” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” joins a cast that includesHouse of Cards” actress Sandrine Holt, Jeremy Sisto, Mark Pellegrino (“Supernatural”) and Kevin Alejandro.

“The Returned” received a straight-to-series order of 10 episodes and is expected to bow in 2015. The original French series was broadcast stateside on the Sundance Channel.
