With unparalleled success in Hollywood and a brand new fiancé, George Clooney has more than enough to keep him occupied.

That is why George has no problem dispelling rumors that he plans to run for the governorship in California in the 2018 elections.

“George has stated repeatedly that he would never go into politics,” a rep for Clooney tells GossipCop.

Of course, there is precedent, with Arnold Schwarzenegger taking a hiatus from filmmaking for a bit while serving as Governator before returning to film – including this summer’s “Expendables 3.”

Clooney is in the midst of his wedding to Amal Alamuddin, after he popped the question back in April.

Before the statement from his rep, rumors were running rampant that he proposed to her simply to appear more like a family man for his run in politics, which is patently false.

But he clearly is looking to the future, as Clooney’s next project is the aptly-named Disney film “Tomorrowland,” which co-stars Judy Greer and Hugh Laurie
