Dave Coulier, best known as the goofball uncle from "Full House," has just denied rumors that Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” is about him after 20 years of urban legend surrounding the song, sometimes promoted by Coulier himself.
“I asked Alanis, ‘I’m getting calls by the media and they want to know who this guy is.’ And she said, ‘Well, you know it could be a bunch of people. But you can say whatever you want,’" he told BuzzFeed.
"So one time, I was doing a red carpet somewhere and [the press] just wore me down and everybody wanted to know so I said, ‘Yeah, all right, I’m the guy. There I said it.’”
In other news, the “you” of “You’re So Vain”remains unidentified, as does the sucker who was denying Aretha Franklin her due “Respect” and the rube who just can’t see that he belongs with Taylor Swift.
We can only hope that these ambiguous “you”s all end up being the same dude who is clearly great with women and has a name that’s totally unpronounceable.
Keep your eyes peeled and tell us who you think “You Oughta Know” is about in the comments!
