One day after “Petals on the Wind” aired on Lifetime, the network is announcing their next high-profile TV movie.
“Deliverance Creek,” from author Nicholas Sparks, is scheduled to debut on Saturday, September 13 at 8pm.
The telefilm stars Lauren Ambrose as “a widow and mother of three who is determined to protect her family and land at any cost during the Civil War,” according to the official press release.
“Deliverance Creek” is a backdoor pilot, meaning if the ratings warrant it, Lifetime could pick it up as a regular television series.
Ambrose’s character, Belle Gatlin Barlowe, gets involved after being pushed into becoming an outlaw two years into the war.
Also appearing in the project are “CSI: Miami” actor Wes Ramsey, Caitlin Custer (“Teen Wolf”) and Riley Smith (“90210”).
Sparks also has “The Best of Me” with Michelle Monaghan and James Marsden coming this October, while Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood have been cast in his adaptation of “The Longest Ride.”
