Up-and-coming Latin American singer Romeo Santos just landed a role in “Fast & Furious 7.”
Deadline reports that Santos’s role is being kept under wraps, but Vin Diesel made the announcement at the star’s concert in Los Angeles earlier this week.
He was nominated for four Billboard Music Awards this week, including Top Latin Artist, Song and Album, including his collaboration with Enrique Iglesias on “Loco.”
This would mark the first major acting role for Santos, who in the past has “starred” in a concert special at Madison Square Garden.
Over the past several months, most of the news surrounding the seventh installment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise has centered on the handling of Paul Walker’s passing.
Now that Universal has chosen to “retire” the character with a little help from Walker’s brothers as stand-ins, the film is still on track for release next April.
