Shakira loves the World Cup.
How else to explain that she has released a new reworking of her single “Dare (La La La)” from her self-titled record in honor of the soccer event?
The release comes just four years after wowing the world with “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the South Africa-set Cup.
Shakira’s “La La La (Brazil 2014)” is not the official FIFA track. That honor goes to Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull, who sang “We Are One (Ole Ola)” with Claudia Leitte.
Either way, she does have an affinity for soccer players (and soccer stars). She has been in a relationship with Spanish footballer Gerard Pique since 2010, and they share a son, Milan.
The FIFA World Cup 2014 begins on Thursday, June 12 and runs for the following month.
What do you think of “La La La”? Is it as good as “Waka Waka” – or “We Are One,” for that matter? Weigh in below!
