Forget the sequel rumors, because the next best thing has been confirmed: “Frozen” is getting an ice show.
“The New York Times” reports that Disney is moving forward with a Disney on Ice adaptation of the smash hit, which will start touring in September.
The show will need a sprawling cast of nearly 40 performers, according to the “Times.”
Grossing more than $1 billion, it’s a no-brainer that the company would want to capitalize on the animated musical.
The soundtrack alone topped the Billboard 200 for 13 nonconsecutive weeks, including hits like “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”
On Monday night, one of the film’s stars, Kristen Bell, created a mock sequel of sorts on “The Maya Rudolph Show,” the “Saturday Night Live” alum’s variety show.
Featuring the vocal stylings of Bell and Rudolph, “Will & Grace” alum Sean Hayes also pitched in on “Frozen Again.”
