“Humans are hunting us. But I fear we are all targets now.”
That’s the basic premise for the new “Transformers” reboot, once again from mega-producer Michael Bay.
When “Transformers 4: Age of Extinction” begins, both the Autobots and the humans are facing extinction once an ancient force threatens them.
They’ll team up with new franchise star Mark Wahlberg, who is trying to keep his daughter, played by Nicola Peltz (“Bates Motel”), safe.
Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, Kelsey Grammer, T.J. Miller and Jack Reynor also star, along with Optimus Prime, of course.
The sequel is also notable because the filmmakers teamed up with Imagine Dragons, who wrote an original song, “Battle Cry” for the film and even contributed to the scoring process.
“I remember being drawn to the emotion of ‘Demons’ and ‘Radioactive’ the first time I heard those songs, and I knew I wanted that same energy and heart for this movie,” Bay said on his official site. “They’ve created a really epic, otherworldly sound for ‘Battle Cry.’”
“Age of Extinction” will explode into theaters on June 27. Are you intrigued or are you sticking with the Shia LaBeouf trilogy?
