James Franco’s “Spring Breakers” was not without controversy, which is where the star might have drawn his comparison to “Taxi Driver” in his latest rant.

The “Palo Alto” actor posted a photo on his infamous Instagram account, railing against the announcement of a “Spring Breakers” sequel.

“This is not being done with [filmmaker] Harmony Korine or my consent. The original was wholly Harmony’s creation and these producers are capitalizing on that innovative film to make money on a weak sequel.”

Franco warned that anyone who joins the sequel “is jumping on board a poison ship” before possibly taking things a bit too far.

“Can you imagine someone making the sequel to ‘Taxi Driver’ without Scorcese and DeNiro's consents? Insanity!” he offered.
