With “Maleficent” inching toward theaters, Disney's moving on to its reboot of “Cinderella.”
The live-action take will star Lily James in the title role, playing a little girl who is stuck with her evil stepmother (Cate Blanchett) after her father’s passing.
None of that is shown in the first official teaser, which was released on Thursday. Instead, viewers were treated to 75 seconds of close-ups of the iconic glass slipper, which is much more enjoyable than it sounds.
This new take on the classic story features Richard Madden as her Prince Charming, while Tim Burton staple Helena Bonham-Carter will play a “kindly beggar woman” who helps Ella with “a pumpkin and a few mice.”
Her stepsisters will be played by Holliday Grainer (“Bonnie & Clyde”) and Sophie McShera.
“Cinderella” is scheduled for release in March 2015. Were you as mesmerized by the teaser trailer as we were? Weigh in below!
