James Franco is following in the footsteps of Joaquin Phoenix, Woody Allen and Joan Rivers.
The chameleonic actor has announced that he’ll star in a documentary, which will be helmed by first-time director Lisa Vangellow, according to “The Wrap.”
The nearly-completed “Franco: A Documentary” will center on his “controversial exploits in academia and the art world,” not to mention his acting career.
Aside from being an A-list movie star, Franco’s other professions include professor, soap star, artist and Broadway performer.
The star could probably use the positive exposure, as he recently experienced a public relations nightmare after allegedly chatting up a teenage girl on Instagram.
Franco also explained his penchant for posting half-naked selfies on the social media site during an interview with David Letterman.
“It’s what the people want. If you don’t want to see it, don’t follow me. Don’t follow me on Instagram,” he exclaimed on “The Late Show.”
