Britt Robertson is going for a “Ride.”
The 24-year-old actress has been cast for the female lead in “The Longest Ride,” a film adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel, Deadline reports.
The star will play a college student named Sophia Danko who romances a cowboy (newcomer Scott Eastwood).
While they’re falling in love, the film will also tell the story of an elderly man stranded after an accident.
The man, whose role has not yet been cast, will look back on his life with his wife Ruth, a part to be played by “Game of Thrones” actress Oona Chaplin, according to “The Wrap.”
A recognizable TV face from series like “Life Unexpected” and “The Secret Circle,” Robertson’s star has been on the rise since her high-profile role on Steven Spielberg’s “Under the Dome.”
And if Eastwood’s last name sounds familiar, it should: he is the son of legendary actor-director Clint Eastwood.
She has a leading role in Disney’s “Tomorrowland,” a mysterious feature co-starring George Clooney, Judy Greer and Hugh Laurie.
