LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 17: R&B singer Chris Brown (L) appears in court with his attorney Mark Geragos for a probation violation hearing during which his probation was revoked by a Los Angeles Superior judge on March 17, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. The singer was arrested March 14, 2014 and is being held without bail. will stay behind bars for the foreseeable future.

CNN reports that the singer will return to California after his Washington, D.C. assault case was delayed until June.

Brown is still on parole stemming from the Rihanna assault convictions, and though his lawyers asked for his release as he awaits trial, the judge denied the request.

Thus he will stay in prison until at least June, and he will make the trip back to California in the custody of U.S. marshals.

His bodyguard was found guilty in the D.C. case earlier this month, in which both he and the performer stand accused of allegedly assaulting a man who was trying to take a photo of Brown.

“I think it’s a little over the top to have him in custody on this misdemeanor when everybody saw the bodyguard’s trial and which was nothing more than a bloody nose,” Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos said (via CNN).
