“The Voice” is about to get a whole lot more B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
TMZ reports that No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani will step in for Christina Aguilera during the fall cycle of the NBC singing competition series.
Aguilera is reported to be expecting her second child, and she would likely have to miss a good portion of the show’s seventh season, but she is believed to be on board for season 8.
If true, Stefani would join confirmed new coach Pharrell Williams, who is taking over the coveted swivel chair from the departing Cee Lo Green.
In potentially even greater news, there are rumors that the “Hollaback Girl” singer might be working on her third solo album.
Incidentally, it was Pharrell who started the comeback buzz, commenting to “Billboard” after their surprise Coachella collaboration how “amazing the queen looks as she is making her arrival back to the music industry.
Stefani most recently dropped “The Sweet Escape” in 2006.
