It’s finally here: the first trailer for David Fincher’s highly-anticipated “Gone Girl” adaptation has been revealed.
Ben Affleck plays a man whose wife (Rosamund Pike) goes missing on their 5th wedding anniversary, and he quickly becomes a suspect.
From the trailer, it’s clear that Pike’s character has much more than cameo as Amy Dunne, the woman in question, who has at least one potentially violent argument with hubby Nick (Affleck) before her disappearance.
The case soon garners media attention and Nick must defend himself, and the trailer ends with this definitive statement: “I did not kill my wife. I am not a murderer.”
But is he telling the truth? Luckily, those who haven’t had a chance to read the book yet have a little time, as the dramatic thriller is due out in November.
Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Missi Pyle, Patrick Fugit (“Almost Famous”) and “Treme” actress Kim Dickens also star.
