These days, nobody would accuse Miley Cyrus of being insecure.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer tells “Rookie” editor Tavi Gevinson in the latest “Elle” that she was afraid of being lost without Disney and ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth.
“When I went through a really intense breakup – you know, I was engaged – and when I was with [Liam] or when I was with Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn’t there to carry me anymore or if I didn’t have him,” Miley said (via “Elle”).
Yet the ex-“Hannah Montana” star feels like she’s doing just fine now that she’s single and working on her own.
“And now I’m free of both of those things, and I’m fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I’m totally okay, and that’s so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn’t have a boyfriend,” she continued.
Miley also expressed how “lucky” she is to leave her Disney image behind, having seen the fallout for some of her predecessors. Read more over at ELLE.com.
