This might be remembered as the summer of “Godzilla.”
A three-minute extended trailer for the film has been released (via MTV News), and as expected, it’s a sci-fi extravaganza.
“Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston, who it has been noted has done a great deal of shouting in past trailers, gets a little more shading in the new preview, and his rage is not undue.
His wife, played by Juliette Binoche, gets caught up in an emergency at the nuclear power plant where they both work, and you can guess that Godzilla is at the heart of it.
“It was not a natural disaster, all right,” he says at one point. “What’s really happening is that you’re hiding something out there. And I have a right to know!”
Perhaps the most suspenseful part of the trailer is when a tidal wave hits the city, and viewers will be holding their breath for the poor pooch trying to outrun the rising waters.
“Godzilla” hits theaters on May 16. Are you afraid yet? Sound off in the comments!
