Those who tuned into HBO on Sunday night for the “Game of Thrones” premiere – and not that pesky HBO Go app – were treated to the first teaser for HBO’s “The Leftovers.”
The pay cable network’s next big drama doesn’t begin airing until June, but the first preview is sure to leave viewers wanting more.
“The Leftovers,” adapted from the novel of the same name, follows those who were – for lack of a better term – left over after the Rapture.
Rather than deal with the immediate aftermath of the event, the show takes an interesting tact by jumping ahead and dealing with the lives of the “survivors” after two percent of the population disappears.
Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman (“Private Practice”) and Liv Tyler star in the much-anticipated new series.
During the launch of “Game of Thrones,” the influx of users crashed the app, as it did with the “True Detective” season one finale only weeks ago.
“The Leftovers” debuts on Sunday, June 15 at 10pm, where it will be paired with the final season of “True Blood” one week later. Will you tune in?
