Barbara Walters has cemented the date she’ll leave “The View” in her rearview.
The iconic host determined that May 16 will mark her final day with the ABC daytime series, E! News reports.
Walters co-created the series and has already made plans to return to the show as a special distributor.
“[Barbara Walters] broke barriers, defied convention, made history and set the standard for journalist excellence for more than 50 years,” the Walt Disney Company’s Robert A. Iger told E! in a statement. “It’s hard to imagine television without her.”
With the 84-year-old leaving, the show’s current lineup includes Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy.
No further additions have been set at this point, though those decisions will likely be made closer to the show’s season premiere in the fall.
“The View” airs weekdays at 11am on ABC. Will you be sad to see Barbara leave or is it only goodbye for now? Share your thoughts on her exit in the comments!
