While “Godzilla” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” are stealing the spotlight, “Jupiter Ascending” is still a contender for sci-fi must-see of the summer.
The latest trailer for the Channing Tatum-starrer has hit the web (via Forbes), fleshing out the relationship between his intergalactic traveler and Mila Kunis, playing Jupiter Jones.
While she’s working as a maid, Tatum’s Caine points out that what she does is not who she is, and she’s destined to be “next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.”
Yet her uniqueness also makes her dangerous, leading Eddie Redmayne’s (“Les Miserables”) character on a mission to track her down.
Notably, the film has an incredible sci-fi pedigree, coming from the Wachowskis, the siblings behind “The Matrix” and “Cloud Atlas.”
Sean Bean (“Game of Thrones”), James D’arcy, Terry Gilliam and “Romeo & Juliet” actor Douglas Booth also star.
“Jupiter Ascending” hits theaters on July 18. Based on the trailer, does the movie look wildly original or just plain weird? Weigh in below!
