Dwayne Johnson stealthily became one of Hollywood’s most bankable leading men, and he hopes to break the bank once again with “Hercules.”

The first trailer for the latest mythological adaptation was unveiled today (via “The Hollywood Reporter”), focusing on the truth behind the legend, as the narration goes.

The “Fast & Furious” franchise star easily steps into the title role as a man stronger than anyone should possibly be.

Though he’s more than brave enough to take on a lion – check out the headwear he’s sporting – the Artist Formerly Known as “The Rock” faces an even greater danger in Amphiaraus (Ian McShane).

That said, he still has to take on an enormous tusked boar and a swamp creature that might just be the Hydra, so Hercules never really gets a fair shake.

Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes (“American Horror Story”) and John Hurt also star in the film, which was directed by Brett Ratner (“Tower Heist,” “Red Dragon”).

“Hercules” hits theaters on July 25. What did you think of the trailer? Weigh in below!
