Lady Gaga is back and ready to be your G.U.Y.
The pop star has had a tough go of it the past few months, but she rose from the ashes like a phoenix – or whatever mythical bird creature she plays in the opening scene scored to her album’s title track – with her new music video.
The nearly twelve-minute video for her latest “Artpop” single “G.U.Y.,” which stands for "Girl Under You," opens with a wounded Gaga making her way to safety.
Upon arrival at the Hearst Castle, she is escorted in by Oz-like guards into a magical landscape filled with flowers, a healing pool and the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast playing musical instruments.
Not only that, but Bravo guru Andy Cohen has a fun cameo as the sun God, along with a Michael Jackson impersonator and a whole lot of camp.
Since the video debuted on “Dateline” Saturday night, the video has already racked up well over 8 million hits
There’s not telling if this will translate into success on the Billboard charts, but it’s certainly the most Gaga video yet.
