Star Wars” is going back to the future for its latest reboot.

NPR confirms that the new incarnation of the George Lucas-created franchise will take place 30 years after 1983’s “Return of the Jedi.”

Disney CEO Bob Iger would not confirm or deny any casting news, noting that R2-D2 is the sole “official cast member” he would reveal.

Beyond that, little else is known, though Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) are rumored to be returning in some capacity.

As for new actors, “Girls” star Adam Driver is reportedly close to signing on for the film’s lead villain, who is believed to be in the vein of Darth Vader.

J.J. Abrams (“Star Trek Into Darkness”) will helm “Episode VII,” which is due out next December. With filming set to begin in May, expect more announcements to be made over the coming weeks.
