Cinco de Mayo is a day to celebrate, but Justin Bieber will not be partying.
The pop star has received a May 5 trial date in the ongoing legal battle surrounding his arrest on allegedly driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving on an expired driver’s license.
“The Washington Post” reports that not plea deal has been offered to Bieber.
“All we’re going to say is, we’re going to prepare for a trial and that Mr. Bieber has pleaded not guilty,” his lawyer told reports (via “Washington Post”).
Video of the singer’s arrest has been made public, including the footage of him submitting to a urine test that was under dispute from his lawyers.
The musician’s friend, Khalil Amir Sharieff, who was arrested that same night on a DUI charge, will appear in court on April 7.
Bieber made news earlier in the week in a legal matter, when he was combative during a deposition in a case alleging that he ordered his bodyguard to assault a photographer.
