Pharrell may not have won the Oscar for Best Original Song on Sunday, but he did win a place in the viewers' hearts.
The singer rocked the crowd with his crowd-pleasing song “Happy” from “Despicable Me 2,” sporting a similar version of the infamous hat that he first donned at the Grammys.
Going one step further, Pharrell put the original hat up for auction on eBay for charity, with Arby’s outbidding the competition with a $44,100 bid, E! News reports.
The fast food chain first commented on the hat’s similarity to their logo during the Grammys, joking, “Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back? #GRAMMYs.”
Well, they did, purchasing the hat to benefit his From One Hand To AnOTHER foundation, which works as a resource for at-risk youth.
After Pharrell reached out on Twitter to thank the winning bidder, the Arby’s official Twitter account responded, “You’re welcome. We’re HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back.”
