Bravo’s reality series are regularly accused of having a script, but they are making it official with their next offering.
The cable network has greenlit their first scripted series, “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce,” which will debut in 2015, according to the official release.
The 13-episode series stars Lisa Edelstein (“House”) as Abby, a woman who is keeping her divorce hush-hush as she dips her toes back into the dating scene.
Based on Vicki Iovine’s “Girlfriends’ Guide” book series, Abby “finds herself seeking advice from her divorced friends, instead of her married ones, which leads to some unexpected and life-changing experiences.”
Janeane Garofalo will co-star as one of those divorced friends, a lawyer, while Beau Garrett (“Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior”) will play another, a former model.
“Private Practice” star Paul Adelstein will play Abby’s ex, and Carrie Fisher will have a brief role as her book editor.
