The Super Bowl was less than two weeks ago, and yet football season is never really over.
On the heels of the media blitz over NFL prospect Michael Sam’s coming out ahead of the draft, CBS is finalizing their plans as the new home of “Thursday Night Football.”
Despite speculation, the Eye Network will not hold off on new seasons of ratings juggernaut “The Big Bang Theory” and the likely-returning “Elementary.”
Instead, Deadline reports that both shows, if renewed, will launch new seasons “on some other night” before moving back to Thursday when football season winds down.
The new football season is seeing even greater interest from the public after Sam, a University of Missouri defensive end, came out as gay earlier this month.
The move comes a few months before the draft begins on May 8, leaving many to wait with bated breath to see if he will become the first out, active player in the National Football League.
