Tyrese Gibson has opened up about the death of his dear friend and co-star, Paul Walker.
During an appearance of “The Arsenio Hall Show,” the model-actor explained that Walker’s sunny disposition was getting the entire “Fast & Furious 7” cast through this devastating time, “People” reports.
“What gave me my smile again is really thinking about the fact I’ve never seen him cry, never seen him sad and his energy was always up so I’m like, ‘Why would I be crying and sad and messed up?”
That said, Walker’s passing continues to be difficult for him, as he was filming scenes with him on “Fast 7” just days before the crash.
“I was with him just four days before it happened,” he told Hall. “We were on the set shooting, and that was a lot of shock and trauma for the family and all of us involved, because he’s such a nice guy.”
The film’s release was pushed back until April 2015, and Walker’s character will be “retired” using the scenes he had already shot before his death.
A portion of the DVD proceeds for “Fast & Furious 6” will benefit Walker’s foundation.
