Lifetime is booking a return trip to the attic.
The network announced plans this week to develop a sequel to their upcoming “Flowers in the Attic” telefilm, “Variety” reports.
Based on the second novel in V.C. Andrews’s Dollanganger series, “Petals on the Wind,” the follow-up “takes place about 10 years after the first movie ends” and is “a very juicy compelling revenge drama.”
None of the cast from “Flowers,” which includes Ellen Burstyn, Heather Graham and “Mad Men” star Kiernan Shipka, has been confirmed to return for the sequel.
According to Deadline, the network also announced the return of its hit series “Devious Maids” on April 20 at 10pm.
Executive producer Eva Longoria is set to direct the season opener, which sees Marisol’s (Ana Ortiz) transition from maid to employer and a number of new cast additions.
She also falls for a mysterious new man, while Valentina finds new employment and Carmen “embraces her life in the limelight as the fiancée to a pop star.
“Flowers in the Attic” airs Saturday, January 18 at 8pm on Lifetime. Are you excited about the prospect of a sequel? What about the second season of “Devious Maids”? Sound off below!
