In preparation for its January 15 Season 13 launch, "American Idol" is rolling out contestants and judges for a week of online fan Q&A sessions on Facebook and Twitter.

Season 8 winner Kris Allen kicked things off Tuesday (January 7) on Facebook, while Lauren Alaina, Pia Toscano, Angie Miller and last year's champ Candice Glover will all be on Twitter today (January 8).

Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips takes his turn at 3:30 p.m. EST Friday (January 10) on Facebook, and he tells us that "Idol" was the stepping stone for many great experiences:

"Oh man, I played for the Dalai Lama last year in Syracuse. I've gotten to meet a few heroes, gotten to go on some great tours -- matchbox twenty and John Mayer -- and gotten to meet a lot of great people and go to cool shows. I did 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at the World Series and that was unreal for me. So many things..."

Also on the docket for "Idol" Q&As are  returning judge Jennifer Lopez, also at 3:30 p.m. Friday on Facebook, and Colton Dixon on Thursday (January 9) on Facebook.

A special premiere screening event that includes a live Q&A with this year`s judges and host Ryan Seacrest takes place January 14 at theaters in 19 cities around the country, including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Detroit, Denver and Sacramento.
