ABC Family is banking on a reunion of two classic co-stars to bring the ratings.
The cable network announced Monday that Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth will reteam on “Mystery Girls,” a comedy series set to debut later this year.
The former “Beverly Hills, 90210” stars will play “two former detective TV show starlets brought back together by a real-life mystery,” according to the official press release.
The network announced another comedy pickup with “Young & Hungry,” an Ashley Tisdale-produced project about an up-and-coming chef.
Gabi (“Hannah Montana” star Emily Osment) is a young food blogger looking to find a job working as the personal chef of a “young tech entrepreneur” played by Jonathan Sadowski.
The series will also star Rex Lee (“Suburgatory”), Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley (“Animal Practice”) and recurring guest star Annie Potts.
The comedies will join ABC Family’s returning lineup, along with a new drama called “Chasing Life,” which will also premiere in 2014.
